Sidley, in conjunction with DataGuidance, is pleased to announce an upcoming webinar on the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and what it means for the financial services industry.
Intended to standardize data protection measures across the EU, the new GDPR will significantly impact financial services companies in Europe and around the world that collect European citizens’ data. One particularly important change introduces potential fines for noncompliance of up to 4% of annual worldwide turnover.
While the GDPR will not officially become law until mid-2018, businesses can begin taking steps to prepare for it now.
