Sidley, in partnership with DataGuidance, is pleased to announce a four-part webinar series on the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). GDPR Essentials aims to help businesses update and develop their policies and procedures to comply with the new GDPR requirements, which will be enforced beginning May 25, 2018.
Intended to standardize data protection measures across the European Union, the updated GDPR will significantly impact companies in Europe and around the world that collect European citizens’ data. One important change introduces potential fines for noncompliance of up to 4% of annual worldwide turnover.
We will offer the first of our GDPR Essentials series, “One year to go and what you need to do,” on May 23, 2017, 3:00 p.m. BST/10:00 a.m. EDT.
This webinar will highlight the practical steps companies need to take each month until the rules take effect a year from now. Anna Pouliou, Corporate Privacy and Data Protection Leader for Europe at General Electric, and William Long, who leads the EU data protection practice at Sidley, will host the discussion.
