The Impact of the GDPR on Outsourcing

Sidley Austin LLP, in conjunction with DataGuidance, are proud to announce: The impact of the proposed General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on outsourcing arrangements, a free webinar taking place from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (BST) on Wednesday, September 23, 2015.

When the GDPR is adopted, it will have a significant impact on businesses and on outsourcing arrangements with third party vendors providing services involving the use of personal data.

This webinar will examine how the new requirements under the GDPR may affect outsourcing and the steps businesses should start to consider to prepare for the GDPR.

Head of Enterprise Legal

Vijayalaxmi Aithani is the head of Enterprise Legal providing support to Microsoft’s Enterprise Partner Group and the Services business in the UK. This includes licensing and cloud related issues for enterprise customer segments from financial services retail, utilities and other segments. She has led legal discussions for Microsoft with some of the most respected brands and contributes to driving awareness for a trusted cloud environment.

William Long
Sidley Austin LLP

William Long advises international clients on a wide variety of data protection, privacy, information security, e-commerce and other regulatory matters. William has experience with EU and international data protection and outsourcing projects and is a regular speaker on regulatory developments in data privacy and information security. William is also on the DataGuidance panel of data protection lawyers.

Michael Powders
Head of Privacy for Global Functions

Michael Powders is Head of Privacy for Global Functions at Barclays. As part of Compliance, he provides privacy advice and oversight for all of the functions supporting Barclays business globally which account for about half of its 132,000 staff including Sourcing and Operations & Technology. One of the ways that Barclays aims to become the ‘Go-To’ bank is by pursuing digital and technology strategies that enable it to operate in the most efficient and effective manner for particular benefit of its 48 million customers worldwide. Before joining Barclays in 2015, Michael was legal counsel for PwC and subsequently for many years was legal counsel for IBM’s outsourcing and consulting businesses and led privacy negotiations with customers in all global services agreements.
