Cybersecurity and Data Privacy
This panel will cover recent legislative and regulatory developments around privacy and cybersecurity, the preparation and implementation of policies and procedures designed to reduce the likelihood of a cybersecurity incident and the steps to mitigate the harm in the event of such an incident. In particular, the panel will include a discussion of the following: (i) the recent responses by Congress and initiatives by the federal agencies and the White House around cybersecurity, (ii) due diligence and ongoing oversight of vendors and other third party service providers with access to sensitive information, (iii) litigation risks and the evolving framework for liability, and (iv) the development of policies and procedures to mitigate or manage data breach risk and harm.
