Sidley, in partnership with DataGuidance, is pleased to announce “GDPR Essentials: Vendors,” the second webinar in a four-part series on the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). GDPR Essentials aims to help businesses update and develop their policies and procedures to comply with the new GDPR requirements, which will be enforced beginning May 25, 2018.
Intended to standardize data protection measures across the European Union, the updated GDPR will significantly impact companies, both in Europe and around the world that collect European citizens’ data. One important change introduces potential fines for noncompliance of up to four percent of annual worldwide turnover.
The second webinar in our GDPR Essentials series will focus on how the GDPR will impact vendors and data processors, including what their obligations are under the GDPR and what changes need to be made to vendor management programs. In particular, this webinar will discuss the data processing provisions that will need to be included in all vendor contracts by May 2018. William Long, who leads the EU data protection practice at Sidley, will host the discussion.
GDPR Essentials will feature two other webinars:
- Data Subject Rights
