CLE Credit Pending

On June 28, 2018, California Governor Jerry Brown signed into law the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (AB 375). According to the bill’s author, it was consciously designed to emulate the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, when it goes into effect, would constitute the broadest privacy law in the United States. Please join us for a discussion that: identifies the key elements of the legislation; explains how the bill might be amended, clarified by administrative rulemaking, or affected by federal or local initiatives; and explains what companies should be doing now to prepare.
